Her Very Own Cabbage Patch Doll

Hell yes! Helena Bonham Carter has the right idea!

baby

If I had a baby, this is what that unfortunate child would have to put up with. It might moan about it then but when it grows up, it’ll know I did it a favor.

But the baby’s so cute, I can’t find fault with her.

oh no! Booboo is precious! I wants it!
But if I know what any child of mine is going to be like, it won’t approve it in the least.

And Ms.Gollum, you HAD to send my way one MORE reminder (cloth dolls and all) of Gaiman’s goth-fest Coraline, that I gleefully gorged on earlier this year. 😀

But hey, something else sweetly special did come out of it, stretch or not…Boney M’s Felicidad! It’s what I was instantly reminded of when I read the note about your li’l ‘un potentially thanking you tomorrow for what you’d do it today (“Oh mama, oh mama, oh mama… You’re the one, who can change my tomorrow today!”)

Didn’t you love it? Coraline I mean, although the baby is pretty sweet too!

Boney M – lolz, I havent heard that name in a while. Now I’m reminded of Craig Ferguson! You should look up his eulogy for his mother.

“lolz, I havent heard that name in a while” — well, that’s coz you’re not into willfully weaning your eight-year-old on wacky Euro-disco cheese you (have no clue how you) loved as a child hoping, “when it grows up, it’ll know [you] did it a favor” (and ditto for dragging daughter off to watch Coraline, setting daddy up to believe it’s the other way around…that daddy knows bettah yet plays along, is another story altogethah…there’s not a schemah like a mamma, I tell ya!). 😀

And oh, that Ferguson eulogy was totally sweet — imagine an old Scotswoman who can hold her own, hanging out with Staten Island gangsta types like RZA (who I’m sure would’ve adoringly remarked to his buddies afterward, “Whatta WuMan!”) and love “Rivers of Babylon” and request for “Jesus Loves Me” to be sung at her funeral (simply coz that’s the only hymn she’s sure everyone can lip sync the words to)…the world is surely poorer for her passing away. Whatta WuMan, indeed!

P.S: BTW, why is it that Craig Ferguson pops up (alongside an 80s pop group, be it the “Mamma Mia!” quartet whose Dancing Queen was your request du jour then, or the “Daddy Cool” quartet dear to Craig’s mommy and me) whenever cloth dolls are in the picture, puppets or otherwise? Hmmm…

When I read of Prince Charming go searching for the owner of a glass eye this morning (if you like it, be sure to save it — not the glass eye but this comic strip that’s sure to go “poof” come midnight, when the paper swaps it out with tomorrow’s), a spontaneous surge (scourge?) of curiosity sent me over here to see if you’ve perhaps written something on Cinderella…and oh for the love of God, will wonders ever cease? I’ll be damned if I saw Cinderella “buried” in a post on, oh yes , Wuthering-bloody-sadomasochistic-Heights! 😀 (You outdid yourself on that one, Amrita!)

BTW, that Monty Python semaphore-signals video was, what else?, howlarious! Here’s that link again, coz the one on your page is a goner now. I loved that it took me on a tangential trivia-trip to a Beatles album cover where the Fab Four supposedly started to semaphore-signal “HELP”, but it quite turned out to be “NVUJ”, coz of space constraints on the cover or something, and that’s what the record company went with.
