Yeah I agree. Just all so much less self consciousness back then. Natural bodies, natural poses. Nowadays I can see the work behind the pictures. The diets, the training regimes, the plastic surgery and cosmetic enhancements, the relentless marketing. Everything is so self conscious now, even the phrase “keeping it real”. we have to wipe our collective memories and reboot, don’t we. 🙂

The first pic is to die for. Audrey Hepburn is heaven. Have you seen her Oscar acceptance speech? OMG, then you’ll know they don’t make them the same anymore.

Gagan – Right. I keep hearing people complain how Brad Pitt is Brad Pitt in every movie and the thing is, how could he be anything else when he’s obsessively photographed every second of the day? I bet Clark Gable didn’t have paps with long lens taking that pic on the yacht. I bet nobody even knew he was on a yacht. Or gave a shit what it meant that he was on a yacht.

Adithya – no! do you have a link? I love her so, so much!

Buddy – aaiiieee! What a thing to remind me of! Btw, did you hear about Nine? She’s in it. I was all meh about it until I saw the trailer. Now I’m suddenly excited.

I agree A! However, I have always thought who from today might be remembered for their beauty, say 50 years down the line? Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett are a couple of good guesses in my opinion… Merrill Streep, Penelope Cruz, Beyonce… who would you add to the list?

Koke – Cate Blanchett definitely. Have you seen the Good German? The movie is so-so (terrible if you can’t get the comparisons out of your mind) but my GOD! She is breathtaking. Clooney isn’t too shabby but that movie and Benjamin Button alone qualify her for a shot at it.

Adithya – thank you! Aww! She’s adorable.

Jason – well at least we have DVDs!

Bollyviewer – hey there you are! Where have you been for the past month or so? Also, that man is a sexy beast. An asshole but a sexy beast.

Ingrid bergman is the only one I really miss from that era. Like I will get on a time machine, check out if she was for real and then come back.
