Abuse + Infidelity + Indignity = BFF.

My Prince Charming's a frog

My Prince Charming is a frog

Reading Bollywood gossip is like catching up with a vicious group of “special” 10-year-olds. Everybody’s angry at each other because their beautiful bottoms aren’t being kissed enough, this person is cheating on that person with another person and everybody knows it but nobody’s allowed to talk about it because all these people are from “good families” and only people from not-good families do “those types” of things, if you’re friends with person A then person B won’t talk to you and you’re not allowed to work with anyone other than A and his friends, etc.

So it’s pretty pointless to get angry about the crazy things these people say. It is, however, quite impossible to keep your jaw from dropping to the floor every once in a while. Consider, for example, this statement by Abhishek Bachchan, currently doing press for his just-released Drona:

“I never had any enmity with Salman. He is my senior and my friend, why would I have any rivalry with him!”

— Abhishek Bachchan, 2008

I wonder how Aishwarya Rai feels about that?

“I stood by [Salman Khan] enduring his alcoholic misbehaviour in worst phases and in turn I was at the receiving end of his abuse (verbal, physical and emotional), infidelity and indignity.”

— Aishwarya Rai, 2003

Yup, that’s exactly the guy I’d want my husband to be friends with.

Oh cmon! Every spouse feels that way about the friend of the husband. You know the guy he would rather hang out with at the bar than go home to his hag of a wife…

Plus ABjr. is probably getting pointers. He is just going where Salman’s plenty of times before.. wait that doesn’t sound right. He is just walking the path that Salman paved.. nope there is no way to say this without it sounding like weird sexual innuendo.

Oh, it’s simple power politics. My enemy’s enemy if my friend.

Even SRK is at it right now.

It’s like the Godfather. emotions don’t come in the way of good business.

PR is a key part of the business they are in. 🙂

It’s what makes Bollywood gossip so much more entertaining than any other kind.

hahahaha! you said it in the first two lines 😉 Now I know why I like it. 😀

And in this tinsel-town, as soon as you get involved with someone, be ready for it will haunt you all your life and even after whether you like it or not.

Enjoyed that! If brains were hair, most Bollywood personalities would be Yul Brynner.

Has Madame AB done something to make her cup overfloweth?

That pic is hot. Not pretty, but hot. Maybe it’s photoshop. What say you Amrita? 🙂

Ok, first off, deja vu as far as topic goes. Secondly, I think Ash is a bit of a doormat to be quite honest. The whole sugary sugary pativrata bahu bit is pretty nauseating. It wouldn’t surprise me if she hates Aby for saying all this but puts up a ‘mera pati kitna phenomenal human being hai’ front. And Aby, well he cannot afford to make dushmani with anyone, given that his entire career is a gift from daddyjee. Funnily, Ash cannot stand his exes :-p

Hey everybody, you guys really like your dose of Ash 😀

Sachita – and then billboards would have been set on fire, I suppose 😀

Complicateur – EWWWWWWWWWW!!!! Make. The. Pictures. Stop!!!!

Kanan – what’s terrible is that they keep portraying this whole Ash-Sallu angle as some kind of love triangle, whereas Ash is talking about being abused. blech.

Rads – it’s from the Vogue shoot. She’s pretty hot yes, but I don’t think that’s er, enhanced. I think her arms have been photoshopped a bit so the rest of her “pops” but her boobs don’t look like they’ve been given the Playboy treatment. She’s always had cleavage, she just doesn’t like to show it off too much. 🙂

Pitu – oooh, that sounds like gossip! What’s she done with his exes?

Well, she cannot stand Karisma Kapoor and Rani. There were reports of her hanging around the ‘Laga Chunri’ sets to make sure RaniAby stayed away from each other. Now, one could say she doesn’t like them generally but am sure them being Aby’s exes has something to do with it as well. His other ex- Dipanita Sharma is so low on the celeb radar that Ash couldn’t care less I think.

The funny thing is, Aby is supposedly friends with her ex Vivek whereas Aby dislikes the Kapoor gals to the point of refusing to act with Bebo. I watched a video of Bebo on indiafm once where she clearly stated that every time she and Aby have been offered a film together, he has refused it.

So basically, he harbors grudges against one of his exes (and her chhoti behen), but he stays ‘friends’ with a guy who abused his wife?????! Ghor kalyug I tell you :-p

The first part of your post about the pseudo-amity that exists between figures in Bollywood is perhaps key to the existence of figures like Rakhi Sawant.

She exists as a figure who can say whatever she wants and get away with it. Well the logic behind that role is that people like her are required as objects of scorn for the more famous figures. The whole “Look at her so silly and open about everything whereas we are so dignified”.

I agree. What kind of a man would be friends with someone who has abused his wife? Also, how on earth does Ash tolerate this shit? How did she let Sallu get away with abusing her?
Pitu – I agree with you…she IS a doormat. I hate her doing the ma, pa, hubby thing.

Pitu – dammit, I was hoping for some black magic or at least tire slashing! Didn;t Salman teach her anything? 😛

Prasanth – Rakhi is like the Amar Singh of Bollywood. Nobody understands why she exists or what she does exactly but she can do pretty much anything because she’s Rakhi. At least she’s entertaining!

Shilpa – I dont blame her for what happened with Salman but I do think the B-family is a bit creepy the way they all pal around. Don’t they ever get time off for good behavior?

Hmm maybe she was putting hexes on Sallu everytime the saas-sasur dragged her to yet another temple :-p

I dont know whats up with them seriously. They all behave like they are the first family. Have you read AB’s blog? He thinks people will waste their time to read his drivel!
