The Great Youtube Debate

25 Jul

Hey, did you see the big, huge CNN-Youtube Presidential debate for the Democratic candidates? Yeah, me neither.

But Time‘s Ann Marie Cox did and she even liveblogged the event, hitting upon all the high points. “High” as in “drunk because alcohol was the only thing that made it bearable”.

7:22 PM: HOW DOES BARACK PROVE HE IS BLACK? Pantone, maybe?

7:26 PM: Hillary “can’t run as anything besides a woman.” There are clinics for that.

7:26 PM: Edwards graciously abdicates the votes of sexist bigots.

7:27 PM: CNN found the only widely-viewed downloadable video of two lesbians on the internet that isn’t porn. Dodd wants to not have to spend money on his daughters’ (gay) weddings. Richardson wishes the women in the video were hotter.

Heh. You can see all the recap (39 questions all told) here. Meanwhile, Cox’s colleague Joe Klein seems to think the GOP candidates might well drop out of the upcoming CNN-Youtube Republican debate (Sept. 17) after watching the Dems perform. A sort of payback, perhaps, for the Fox News snub handed out by said Dems.

Seriously.

Amrita, I didn’t follow it but read about it later…Questions that sprouted in the discussion were like a potential Al Gore candidacy, global warming, guitar-man singing about taxes, minimum wage and hell lot of other topics…

Don’t you think in a way, it was good, this is just the beginning and the two top contenders can well anticipate, what’s there more in the stock of questions, in the coming discussions.

Btw, guess you have heard about Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook and his high rise in recent days. Guess its high time Obama shifts from MySpace to Facebook 🙂

Oooooooops, Amrita leave all this, just make a jhaakas post on Dr.Shilpa Shetty. Yes ‘Dr.’ …..

Hey Tanay, I would have been a lot more interested if they did this in the presidential run off – get the two final candidates and face off!

Obama should be on Facebook! it was started at his alma mater after all. And as far as Doc Shetty goes, i don’t know if i could better The Grump Old Indian Man:
