  13. Hi

Been wanting to get in on descritics to publish some articles. No response from the “powers that be” at desicritics@gmail.com.

You seem to be a regular; help?

    tx

  14. Sorry about that Sushil. it’s been a crazy sort of few weeks. Please check your email tomorrow. :)

  15. As you can see, I am now “on”. This confirms my assessment that you are someone who has clout, or atleast knows one way more than e-something for establishing contact.

Like most indians I have a view on everything. So blogging has made its place in my calendar!

  16. Well, i’d tell you what it is but then i’d have to kill you.
    j/k - I’m an editor :) Welcome to DC

  17. This is slowly becoming a bulletin board to leave stuff for you on! Perhaps that tells more about you than you intended for this space.

  18. Read that lovestory. Wanted to comment on it. But the two hundred odd comments there left me unsure this would reach you. And this had to reach you: There is something in that story which is real, true. It defies explanation as one discovered at great expense. But true it is. The polemics and the extremely judgemental views in the comments posted cannot wash away… the truth.

  19. Sushil - you think so? :)

Thanks for that. And yes, you did right to post that here because I wouldn’t have read it there. It’s an unfortunate side effect of the trallapalooza.

  20. New word - trallapalooza. Dont know what it means….. Read a book written by a friend “Games Indians Play”. A must read. AM going to review it for DC. It really is an amazing and socially relevant book.

  21. oops, misspelled it - i meant : trOllapalooza. It means a vast gathering of trolls and i might just have made it up :) cool, looking forward to it.

  22. Hi Amrita,
I was referred to this blog by a friend and enjoyed reading some of your writing and forwarded the link to journalist Kavita Chhibber. We’d love to

  23. sorry, malfunctioniny keyboard. We’d love to showcase some of your writing for her online magazine.
    Please check it out -www.kavitachhibber.com
    thanks!

  24. thanks Karen :) Definitely!

  25. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you soon.

  26. Hey,
I think just as the world is too small, your introduction is also too short(and simple,to be precise :))

    -Himanshu Sheth

  27. Hey Himanshu - it;s all a ploy to make you read the blog a bit more closely :D

  28. Nice marketing !!
An about me that says nothing!
A picture that says as much as it doesnt (assuming it’s yours).!
Posts which tell more then they hide!!

  29. Ramjee - aren’t I clever? :D No, the avatar is a Dali painting of his sister. But it says a lot about me, I think! And the posts… Ha!

  30. :-) The closest I’ve ever come to this “About” description is the small print on a friend’s tee-shirt that said “Nosey little fucker, aren’t you?” Oh but I’m loving this one!

  31. OJ - damn, I wish I’d known it before coz I’d have stolen it! :D

  32. babes cud u pls change your bookmark to http://desigirl.net.in - that way even if i keep fooling with my site, u needn’t constantly change the add as i will change it my end. ta!

  35. Hi Amrita,

I would like to invite you to be a part of our endeavour. Please shoot me an email.

    Thanks.

  36. Can I get a link on your blog, or a link exchange.. Amrita??

oh & about “About” section: Ppl would you really wanna waste time readng about others, when you can utilize that one in making yours, “About” section much more brighter then whatever it is right now :-)

    Bless - J

  37. Hey JM - well, what’s your site? I see you’ve linked to some sort of music site. Is that yours? What gives?

  38. Howdy, we just got over wit the initial phase of streaming music portal, and on wit efforts of developing second phase where everyone will be able to network accordingly (cant disclose much, you know). Startup at the moment, is what we are :-)

link exchange?? let me know if there is something that can be done.
or whatever it takes.. lol jk..

    - J

  39. Good Content. I like your website.

  40. Thanks :)

  41. Amrita, thought I’d write here to get your attention. The next Carnival of Feminists is being hosted at my blog on Oct 24th. I think you are sympathetic to the cause :) and have a wide readership, so is it possible to put out a call for submissions? (Just a request).

The link on my blog is here -

  44. Surely the most original about I have come across

  45. Thank you :)

  46. Whoa! This is the shortest about me section i have ever come across!A lil self-introspection would have been fun!Don’t you think so?

  47. RH - well what use is self introspection if I share with everyone? :D

  48. Hi,
I’m writing about various topics which includes technology, business and education. Can we exchange links?

    Regards
    Ravi

  49. bravo….
    an uncommon about me…

and i thought u said in one of ur posts that u dont post anonymously.
but all we have is a name , could be urs..cud be fake….. :D

  50. Aah, labeling the page “Not Much About Indiequill” would be more appropriate I think. ;)

  51. Saaki - if only :( seems to me entirely too many people I know offline visit this blog.

    Amey - :P

  52. Ow this was good!!! Just stumbled on your blog and am loving it!! Will be back for more :)

  53. touché

  54. Hi Amrita,

We run a sports media company which provides sports content. A client of our’s is looking for freelance entertainment writers. I’d like you think that you would a very good job in that role.

Can you mail us your email address or contact number or both, so that we could pass it on to this client of ours and from there the client would take up further discussions with you?

    Regards,
    Amit Panhale

(Couldn’t find a contact me page on your blog)

  55. hey babe
neat design - not that i didn’t like the previous one. but this one is quite nice too.

  56. I have an anniversary coming up for IQ this 24th and I thought I’d change things around a bit. nice huh? :)

  57. :)

  58. Hiding from offline world is not that easy and I like your attempts in doing so. But then, you give away your full name (don’t know if it’s real) in desicritics and link to here. I don’t understand the point :) Anyways some nice writeups there…

  59. Saagar - thanks :) My name is real and the reason why I don’t write anything more in the About section is because I’d like people to form their opinions based on the writing rather than who I am in the real world.

  60. Please give me Amrita Rajan’s email address. I want to interest her with some articles and my novel TARBELA DAMNED — PAKISTAN TAMED which are relevant to what is happening in Pakistan.
    Regards
    C N Anand

  61. Hi Amrita!

Thank you for your encouraging comments to one of my posts. Coming from you, whose writing I quite admire, this is great praise indeed.

I am quite a babe-in-the-woods when it comes to blogging. Any tips or feedback you may have, would be highly appreciiated!! :-)

    Rada

  62. Rada - you’re being entirely too kind :) I dont really do anything special, i’ve just been lucky in finding people whom i like to read and then having them reciprocate and spread the word. You’re doing pretty well as far as the content goes from the looks of it! If I do have any advice it’s something i once heard: the ability to write is like any other muscle in your body. the more your work it, the better it’ll perform.
    Oh, and have fun :)

  63. very nice template. And blog. ;)

DG - NOOO!!!! I’ll never forgive or forget! how dare you?! I hate you now! Waaah!!!! … are you kidding? I cant cast stones on other people’s forgetfulness. :)
