Vidya Balan Calls Dibs
Ever since Vidya began to embrace her inner auntie, she’s been doing rather well in the wardrobe department, I think. She clearly thinks she looks fly here and if she’d been Shabana Azmi, she probably would have been, but at least this shows us that when Vidya is 50, she wouldn’t dream of showing up in a neon pink saree with a metallic silver bra.
Check out the auntie in the background. She totally wants it.

Is the auntie in the blue/green Kancheevaram, VB’s mom?

i dunno, but if it is, there’s a momma bird who plans on sharing clothes with her baby chick. And I like the blue green Kancheevaram from what I can see of it.

With a mother who has sarees like that gorgeous kanjeevaram in her wardrobe, WHY must VB go about looking like this 80s gone wrong auntie? Bah.

Pitu – if those are her parents then she needs to let them pick her outfits for her because they have way better taste than anything she’s displayed.
3D – she must be rebelling!
Against good taste!

But that is a designer saree you see – and a Sabayaschi no less – the man who lamented in a recent interview about the death of the sari and praised VB for being so sari-worthy….and don’t you know, NO One under the age of 50 wears Kanjeevarams anymore?
All snark apart, I actually think the sari isn’t too bad, just dislike the net/sheer pallu part – I think the sari would have looked lovely if it was that orange-brocade material all over…
